23:32 - FTSC standing member election, final results
No vote has been contested within the allotted time frame, therefore
the result of the FTSC standing member election is now final.
We welcome five new members: Alex Barinov, Ross Cassell, Sean Dennis, Egor Glukhov and Dimitriy Romanov.
Standing members Andrew Clarke, Scott Little and Michiel van der Vlist were elected into another two year term.
The membership list is now as follows:
As a personal note I may add that I have mixed feelings about this election. I am pleased that over 40% of all RC's have voted. For a Fidonet election that is a high percentage.
I am also pleased that we have enthousiastic new members that I trust will quickly find their place in the team. The FTSC now has 17 members. More than twice the required minimum of 7 and well over 50% of the maxiumum of 30. Despite the steady decline of FidoNet, there appears to be no danger that the FTSC will be short of volunteers.
What I have mixed feelings about is that one candidate did not make it past the post. If it ever happened before, it was before my time. The irony is that the candidate in question is just one vote short. A vote that he would have had, had he not been a gentleman and declined from exploiting the advantage he had over other candidates. As RC he could have cast a vote for himself.
I have also noted that some displeasure was vented over the fact that RCs nominated themselves, cast a vote for themselves and got voted in. I have a feeling the FTSC election rules that were in effect for many years and suited us well, need some adjustment in that respect.
And to top it of, there was the unpleasant surprise that one of the candidates turned out to also have been a candidate for a ZC position. A fact that was hidden from the electorate until after it was too late. I know that some do not have a problem with an FTSC member also carrying a ZC hat, but I also know that there are others who do. Therefore the information was relevant. As it is, relevant information was withheld form the voters and I am disappointed about that.
I thank all the voters for taking the time and energy to vote.

07:14 - 2009 standing member election preliminary results
Voting for FTSC memberships has come to end. The results are
preliminary as there is a one week period for reporting
inconsistencies and filing complaints. If no vote is contested these
results will become final on Sunday November April 15, 2009, 20:00
UTC.
Seventeen RC's and three REC's have voted.
There were ten candidates and the votes are as follows:
All but one candidate collected more "yes" than "no" votes and therefore all but Bjoern Felten will be accepted into the FTSC unless something drastic happens during the next week which allows opportunity to contest the votes.
Period for contesting the votes ends on Sunday November 15 2008, 20:00 UTC. If no vote is contested, the new members will be installed on Sunday November 16th.

07:07 - FTSC standing member elections, call for votes
Voting for FTSC standing members will commence on Sunday. October 18
2009, 20:00 UTC.
All RCs and RECs are entitled to vote. Each voter may cast one "yes" or one "no" vote for each candidate. Voters need not vote for all candidates, a non vote will be regarded as "abstain" for that candidate. Candidates must receive more "yes" than "no" votes to be elected.
Although not required, voters are encouraged to consult their constituency before casting their votes. Debate with the candidates is also encouraged. No need to hurry.
Voting ends at Sunday November 8 2009, 20:00 UTC.
Persons holding both an RC and a REC position can only vote once. Nodelist.289 as issued by the ZC in who's zone they reside will be used to identify the RCs and RECs in office.
This is the list of candiates:
Voters are requested to paste and copy the form below and after marking a cross for each candidate in the "yes" or the "no" column for all candidates they wish to cast a vote for, and post it in FTSC_PUBLIC with a subject of "vote".
Once again, voters need not vote for all candidates.
